How old do I have to be to work with YouthReady?
The minimum age is 14. Workers 14–15 have more restricted hours and job types per federal law. Workers 16–17 have more flexibility. We handle all of this automatically when placing you.
Do my parents really have to be involved?
Yes — and that's a good thing! A parent or guardian must sign the consent form before you start. This protects you legally and keeps your family informed. The process is quick and easy.
How exactly does daily pay work?
After each shift, your earned wages are available via direct deposit, a payroll debit card, or an earned wage access app. Your net pay (after taxes) hits your account the same day — no waiting for payday.
Will I have to pay taxes?
Yes — just like any job. You're a W-2 employee, so federal and state taxes are automatically withheld from your paycheck. You'll receive a W-2 form at the end of the year. Depending on your total income, you may get some or all of it back when you file taxes.
What kinds of jobs will I be doing?
We place teens in retail assistance, food service support, event staffing, office/clerical work, lawn care, pet care, light warehouse work, tutoring, and more. All placements are safe, age-appropriate, and legally permitted.
I'm a business owner. How quickly can I get workers?
Once your client agreement is signed, we can typically place workers within 48–72 hours depending on availability and the role. For larger or recurring needs, reach out and we'll build a dedicated pipeline for you.
